Daily Reading – 1 Chronicles 9-10 / John 18:1-18
WHAT GOD HAS SAID:
John 18:4 Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye?
WHAT I HAVE SEEN:
In John 18:4 Jesus asked those who came with Judas, “Whom Seek ye?” They told Him they were looking for a man from a place, “Jesus of Nazareth.” Then in verse 7, He asks again, “Whom seek Ye?” Why’d He ask again? Just what were they looking for?
Were they seeking a criminal? These men and officers really didn’t know. He was accused, but was never convicted. Were they seeking a violent man? It says they brought weapons, however they didn’t really know why? Were they seeking a Saviour? They found the Saviour, but didn’t know it. Jesus wanted to know, whom they sought. Today if He asked you the same question, what would your answer be?
WHAT DO YOU SAY:
As you come to the throne of grace today,
Whom seek Ye?
