Ron Comfort was born into a Roman Catholic home in  Elmira, New York.  From the ages of 7 to 15, he sang on radio,  television, stage, and in small night clubs.  At the age of  15, in    a city-wide crusade being held in Asheville, North Carolina,    he was saved and immediately felt God’s call to preach.

After working to pay his own way through college, Ron graduated and immediately entered full-time evangelism. He has continued this ministry since 1961, having preached in 47 states and many foreign countries. The total number of his crusades is well over 1,400.

Ron Comfort was honored in 1973 by Maranatha Baptist Bible College with the degree Doctor of Divinity. That same year he was honored by the Bob Jones University Alumni Association for “Outstanding Work in the Field of Evangelism.”

Dr. and Mrs. Comfort have been married since 1963.  God has blessed their home with 3 daughters and 8 grandchildren.   

Dr. Comfort is the founder and chancellor of Ambassador Baptist College which is located in Lattimore, North Carolina.  The college was founded in 1989 for the express purpose of training men and women for full-time Christian service.  At the time of this writing, over 700 graduates and former students are serving in ministries around the World.
